Sadly we have also lost Jake Findlay in the last few days. I think he played on that magical night in 1977 when we tattered Liverpool 5-1. RIP Jake.

One thing I noticed on the drunks was how many scars they all seem to have - Brum in the Edwardian age was a damn dangerous place to live......

In 1878 Hockley Brook was the boundary between Brum and Aston - so Villa St & Brougham St (Lyn) and Guildford St (me) were over the border as it were... Does this mean we both get kicked out?

Have been exploring the Birmingham Collections website. Real goldmine this one - thousands of photos from amongst other things the Warwickshire Photographic Survey - most of which I have not seen before. Also loads of old maps etc. I'll leave you to explore - you can easily navigate your way...

These arches were at the Colmore Row end in the booking hall concourse, and were demolished in the early 1970s

Where have I seen all this before.......not mentioning any millenium poi.......sorry places........ Go to the collections centre instead - they actually have things to see there like.......exhibits......... rather than endless open spaces and snazzy signs which seem to be way museums are...

On the railway bank behind our house yesterday, this chap appeared twice - sadly only got him on the mobile phone camera hence the low quality pictures:-

As well as the door, also needed cardboard from an Amazon envelope and duct tape.....

Got some photos from Sutton Coldfield of the eclipse today - these were direct shots taken with a heavily stopped down and red filtered telephoto lens:- And these were taken by projecting an image from a large telescope onto a white wardrobe door (all high tech....):- Note the sunspot on...

Currently we see 3 Egrets regularly in Newhall Valley - I walk our dogs down these most evenings after work and they are nearly always around. Apart from common birds like pigeons, robins, magpies, blackbirds, tits, etc, we also see Herons regularly, and occasionally Kingfishers, Pheasants and...

Thank you Harry - I did not know what type of fish it was - I've seen plenty of trout in the Ebrook over the years but these smaller fish are harder to see. Went through photos again and found a couple more:- And then he was REALLY naughty and caught another one, although these photos are not...

Oh - and its great for walking the dogs - this is our dogs last weekend:-
