    Items that have faded away

My mother always used to have a very small bottle of Camp coffee in the cupboard when she fancied a coffee, the only one in the house who drank coffee then. Growing up I didn't drink tea or coffee, and have never ever drunk tea, but I started drinking coffee in the mid sixties, and graduated to...

    The Ring O' Bells

In the mid 70s I worked in Waterloo Road, and quite often Ray would pick me up at lunch times and we would have lunch there, it was always very busy and good value, however in later years we popped in for a drink and we were the only customers, so sad.

My parents married in 1923 and my mother told me she didn't tell her workmates as married women had to give up their jobs on getting wed. I don't know whether tthis was a general rule or just where she worked.
