I thought I would ask the question as the forum often comes up trumps .... "Does anybody know who the little girl is in this 1961 photograph?" She is sat on the step of the Justice Inn on the corner of Great Russell Street. IMHO a lovely period pic.

I'll do another post as I have another pic to add to this thread - if that's OK.

Pic is 1961 Viv so the girl would just have received a Covid jab!

Has anybody got any memories or anecdotes of the post-war publicans of this house. There were only three licensees so they must have made an impression with some of the regular patrons. Their names : Arthur Long, John Heath and Arthur Gill.

I was only teasing! A lot of these corner pubs often had two addresses. However, the Compasses was generally listed in Brearley Street as in this 1947 TD entry :

Slight amendment .. a later map c.1950s shows Court 35 a bit lower but the 1889 map which is more accurate shows it was in fact the court to the rear of Lot 1. I have edited it accordingly.
