    I worked in the offices at David Hollander , Electro platers in late 50s early60s, we bought products from Cannings and their rep would visit from time to time, they sent us nice pressies for Xmas, chocolates ,calendars, my favourites. I think the reps surname was McKay.

    Quite a search to plough through Janice.:) There was no TE Jones killed at Arnhem and having searched deaths of Douglas (with no specific surname) in both deaths in WW2 and graves in Oosterbeek where the Arnhem casualities were buried I can find no Douglas 1st or 2nd christian name or James ...

    Janice I think the statue was added in 2013 when all the new buildings were in place, the old buildings were desolate for years, until demolished I think from 2004-2013 I have an idea the statue belonged to the Father Hudson homes and was located elsewhere before being placed in the field. Alberta.

    The hospital has been demolished and the area is Father Hudsons Care home in Gerards Way but if you go to the car park of the care home there is a field nearby and in the middle of it is a statue of Christ with his arms outstretched and that is where the wards were.

    It seems strange to me that on the map(post 32) it was 82 when I know that the same building today is 79 same as when I worked there and the Member who started the thread is at 87 which was the Rope works which map says is 84.

    When looking at the 1939 census Charles Banks is pub manager at 78-79 Caroline Street but the numbers are odd on one side and even the other.Strange!

    I am confused about the Pub being at 79 Caroline street, because I worked at 79 Caroline street on the Corner of Northwood Street, now a new building with blue panels under the windows. I worked there in the offices, from 1958 to 1963 for the firm David Hollander and sons, EPNS manufacturers...

    Stechford Hall Park which I presume was the surrounds of Stechford Hall has its' gate in Stechford road about a mile from its' junction with Bromford Lane or alternatively can be accessed from Coleshill Road just up from the fox and goose pub.

    My friend phoned me yesterday and said she had some bad news for me,lol. My husband was delighted that the other love of my life was going to die, we shall probably divorce soon:):):) but before that I am going to ask him to buy me the Peaky blinders box set for my birthday:D
