    Snow Hill Station

There was also a trolley service which serviced passengers on the train whilst it was at the platform. As a schoolboy a pal of mine and I befriended the young man, whose name I recall as Archie, who ran this service from the station buffet. I think he was a student and this was his "Saturday job".

I too have several photographs of my father taken during WW2 with friends and fellow servicemen and women. Petrol pumps & filling stations of the past

I used to catch the 11 outer circle after school from the bus stop adjacent to this garage in the early 60s and have a vague recollection that the pumps were still there then.

From that time until I went for the last time in the 1990s the only "rough" time I experienced was when Rangers played us in a friendly. We didn't stay for the rest of the match. I only experienced friendliness...

    Lucas products and services

Came across the following whilst browsing an auction site. Interesting to note the sellers description as to the manufacturing process involved Is this just speculation by the auctioneer or did Lucas actually embellish the table lighter using plain Dunhill products?

    Restaurants In Birmingham 1960s

Before we were married my then fiancee, now my wife, and I used to go there regularly for lunch. They used to do a "Businessman's Lunch" , a three course meal for, I think, 3/9d. Not big portions but certainly value for money and good food.
