    Ms Minnie Lloyd 1938

Not a lot of help but she appears to be listed on the 1935ER. Her address is given as near 53 Hunters Road. The Carnegie Institute and a building labelled as Jewellery Works are unnumbered, shown between 29 & 83. So, I'd assume she's at the Carnegie Institute then.

    The Hollies Castle Bromwich

Doesn't appear to be marked on any maps. A bit convoluted but on the 1901 census an Edward Walter Radnall appears to be listed at The Hollies. No one comes up for The Hollies in 1891 and Edward Radnall in not there. However, a Thomas Clayton is listed in the next property in 1901 and appears...

    Iommi family

Looking at the Iommi's that came to Bham and their descendants there's an interesting progression which may be true of many early immigrants. All the first generation married other Italians or Italian immigrants, and in most cases possibly returning to Italy to do so. The majority of the second...

Just to confirm, that was four years and not 4 months?

The other blank is probably another daughter, Cicely b1925.

    Ms Minnie Lloyd 1938

There's a Peter and Ronald Challender at 475 Warwick Road on the 1960s ERs. The family appear to be there on the 1939 Register also.

Was this answered? The birth certificates seem the best bet (if not already seen). There are 3 birth registration listings (including the one for the name change), I'm not sure if that means there would be 3 birth certificates.

    188, Station Road, Wylde Green

I assumed she knew about the navy officer, possibly just a lodger, and was just trying to find out about the address.

    188, Station Road, Wylde Green

On the 1939 register an Arthur and Lucy Daviss (2 s's) and their daughter (?) Freda are listed there. Arthur dies in 1949 and his probate gives his address as 188 Station Road, Wylde Green.

    Downing/Willis

There doesn't appear to be a birth reg. listed for a Pamela Willis with mmn Downing. Is she the daughter of Frank Willis and Joyce Hadley?

    Harborne

Looking at the map it appears that lower part of Harborne Lane, the part that was in Worcestershire, was always Harborne Lane. The part that was Selly Park Road, the part in Staffordshire, was listed as Mill Lane on the 1882 map and then Selly Park Road in 1901. That part is still Selly Park...

Manchester Street, Blews Street, Brewery Street and New Town Row 1800 - 1861

Henry & Richard appear to be brothers, the sons of John Yates and Ann Nightingale.

    Iommi family

Giovanni/John is a straight forward one. There are a couple Musticones that are a little less obvious Loreda/Nellie and Nuziata/Nancy.

    Iommi family

John we already know off as Giovanni. And without further evidence I'd guess Luigi may be incorrectly listed and should be Luigi Musticone (son in law). There is no other sign of a Luigi Iommi to suggest another son.

    Iommi family

When it comes to pre-1900 ancestors moving from one place to another there are always a number of questions that spring to mind, usually unanswerable. Why did they move? Why did they choose the place they moved to? What did they think of it when they first arrived? Did they remain in contact...

    Iommi family

Like most people who move to a different place it was probably for work/better life. Italy was a fairly poor country in those days, especially the south. I doubt they needed anything like a passport.

A bit of luck, on findmypast they have the Philadelphia Catholic Parish Baptisms. There are 5 children listed for Eleuterio, some I've mentioned already... Adelem 1907 Assumptam Eleonoram 1909 Carminem 1911 Michaelem and Joannem (twins) 1913 Only Carmine and Michael survived and I assume that...

Rosa and a child left England for the US on the 31st Jul 1907 about 2 months after Eleuterio. They are listed as Tommi on the UK Outward Passenger List and she is listed as Yonine on the Philadelphia Arrival Passenger List. On the Philadelphia List it gives her parents address as Fox St...

    Mouzer

They came via Suffolk, so a smaller step to begin with perhaps. Elsie's father, John Henry, was the son of a Nicholas Mouzer b1846 Wolverton (& Ann Hughes), who was the son of James Mouzer b1810 Walpole, Suffolk (& Harriet Masterson), son of William Mowser b1773 Huntingfield, Suffolk? (& Lucy...
