Assuming I've got the right people. I have your nan was Violet Miles and she was very young (just 16?) when she married your grandad? I have her mother as Alexandra Perca and though on the 1921 census her birthplace appears to be listed as Bham I'm fairly certain that's not correct.

That part of Anderton Road was on the west side of King Edward's Road and has all gone (as has part of King Edward's Road) replaced by modern housing, Kelsall and Sherborne Groves etc. Modern map...

Here's a map (1954) of Exteter Place, on Anderton Road....

It may be that when the map was made there was a stone but it has since disappeared unfortunately. If you are sure of your location then that may be as good as you can do but some more careful digging can't do any harm.

The building marked below is listed as no. 214 on the 1954 map so assuming the numbers hadn't changed then this is it from 1889, almost opposite Sheepcote St...

There are number of ads for workers wanted in the 1940 newspapers. One says wanted urgently for government work - apply Whitffield's Bedsteads Ltd, Watery Lane. I'd guess that like many businesses they adapted for the war.

They lived at 6/6 West Holme. Garrison Lane runs off Watery Lane.

Mother, Hannah Tovey, possibly buried there also - Dec 1940.

Hannah is listed on the CWGC, died 22 Nov 1940. Place of death is listed as Whitfields, Watery Lane. Would this be the factory?

She's listed on the CWGC, died at Barnsley Hall Emergency Hospital.

I have some distant relatives who named the first 3 children Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Their next son was Daniel so still biblical related perhaps but after that another 6 children with common names. And none of the 3 named any of their children after themselves.

One of Rodolfo's sons appears to be living in the US, Texas I think.

Appears to have been no. 265, possibly 263 & 265. Maps seem to suggest it may have once been a picture theatre. Looks like a newer building now.

Her name was Bridget/Breda Teresa Desmond. She died in 2019.

Is there a connection? Desmond is a reasonably common name.
