I'm sure, that they still had these converted, MK 111 . 303 /.22, at the ACF range,Thorp Street Drill Hall, in the early 1960's!! They certainly had them at the Full Bore Club, Waterbeach Barracks, in the 1970's!!
I,m not sure, but it may be the cottage, us kids would stop at for water, when walking from the "BlueBell" woods up the hilly lane, to the famous Frankley Beeches, but that would have been early mid fifty's, if it was still standing ?
It was a great part of my early life, lived in Bartley Green from 52 till 59, then Weoley Castle, 59 64, walked across the top, from the age of 6 with my old dad, went through the broken bars to the sub pipeline, aged 8 yrs, where you could lay on the pipe, and fish for newts and sticklebacks...
I remember being about 12 years old, standing on the top board at harborne baths , hugging old, Raza Hinkley, both frightened to death, with old man "Roberts", his face as red as his hair, screaming at us to jump !!!!!:skull:.
