    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

Finally am I right in thinking these photos were not taken from the current car park but the funny angled one that was there previously? I only ask as this photo seems to show how the car park used to look all shapes and angles and not the boring flat box that is there now

Moving to Roll 11, an informative description, "around town in 1989 from the car park rear of Baskerville House. " this covers a number of photos so a use of prior knowledge has been used . For a picture that is not that old so much has changed, looking to the left end of the Copthorne Hotel...

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

Last one off this roll and this picture is included for interest as it was on the roll and for the extremely remote possibility that someone on the picture is recognisable. No idea of school, age or era thatthis was taken but it was obviously a class of " characters" with some not happy at...

    OLD BIRMINGHAM PHOTOS FROM STEVEBHx

Good point Trevor, and with hindsight a good idea - but at the time, I and perhaps others did not connect the importance or the interest these sort of images would generate. ( I totally agree with your comment - its not seen as a "dig" ) There was also a change in working practises - the...

    OLD BIRMINGHAM PHOTOS FROM STEVEBHx

Hi Trevor, these photos were all stored in a room in the Basement at Baskerville House (Broad Street), there was a large cabinet with slide trays, all the colour pictures are from them, not all slides were saved, it was a case of a quick hold up to the light and save it, the pictures were all...

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

The last picture from the site and I can only guess that they are stripping the building out and throwing it in a skip, large gates have been installed to provide security , but we have seen how well that worked, Funny to think that over 40 years have passed and the building has just sat there.

    OLD AND NEW PHOTOGRAPHS

Next we get voyeuristic, peering through doors and gates to see how the negelect is progressing, although it is out of use it still looks an impressive brick built building . massive windows, delivery rails sticking out of the floors and the walls on the ground floor starting to crumble
