    1950s

Thanks for that Topsy, absolutely wonderful...what memories. I remember those kitchen cabinets, and singing Nellie the Elephant as I ran around the old streets. Those ruched bathing costumes used to pinch my skin something awful as a child. The lovely 50's dresses with the mass of net...

Ronuk polish was around not that long ago. I remember using during the 1990's, but it's certainly unavailable nowadays. It was the best of all polish's.

It looks as though it may have been snowing too, but the people aren't wrapped up very warmly.

carolina, the times I have song this song when I've read about major change to places I've considered should be left alone. Certainly Brum is a good example of this, but where I live is also changing dramatically, and not for the best either.

Judy, thats very efficient, and you must be glad that you kept that listing. Oh I remember the songs you have mentioned, and when I was at school the girls used to got dotty over Jonny Ray and 'Cry', and Elvis singing 'Heartbreak Hotel'. We have a 45 record here of Cliff Richard and the...

Yes carolina, I remember it well. I bought the little bottle shown on #1364 from a shop in Icknield St., and I had it until a short time ago, when I accidentally threw it and a bottle of Evening In Paris out with some rubbish. I was so upset about doing such a stupid thing.

Thank you Judy and Vivienne. I can see that my memory is fading. I remember my first EP, it was Ricky Nelson and there were 4 tracks on it.

Another fellow sufferer then Rob1abb. It was an awful place, I shall never forget it. Fortunately I never had teeth removed there, just the blessed tonsils.

carolina, where were the playing fields on Monument Road? I remember Mitchells and Butlers playing fields on Dudley Road, as we used to have our school sports day on there.

I do indeed carolina. On my last post I wrote 65's and EP's. I believe they were actually 67's weren't they?

Oh Carolina, what you describe is exactly what I experienced too. I remember having something put into my mouth to bite, and then the mask coming over my face, and I was petrified. There didn't seem any bedside manner or caring for frightened children then. The pain and problem swallowing for...

My Dansette was the same colour as yours Sparks, and I had so many happy hours with it. Like you Viv, I could never wait to get home and play my latest 65 or EP.

Was there some sort of childrens hospital on Soho Hill, because I'm sure I had my tonsils taken out at that hospital or clinic. As I was only about 5 yrs old at the time, it's hard for me to be sure.
