Unknown 1930s - can anyone identify a) what the caravan used to be and b) where the sign at the side came from? "Mead??? Tea Rooms" perhaps?

Tonights Tawny Owl watch - again we had mom and 2 chicks - all buried in the middle of the tree making photographing them in darkness a nightmare - over 120 shots taken - got 3 useable ones...... This is the adult:- And the two chicks:-

Tawny Owl update - the 2 chicks were back again last night - buried deep in the tree but managed to get 2 shots:-

After consulting a bird book we think they are Tawny Owls - have been with us for the last 3 nights. If they come back tonight I have 2 Canon speedlites waiting to try and get some better photos!

I got lucky as they were twitting and twooing before it was totally dark so I was able to pinpoint their position for which, in turn I found a gap in the leaves and branches through which I could see them and manually focus the lens. Taken last night at about 22.00 in near darkness, we had (we think) an Owl and 2 baby Owls at the top of one of the big trees at the railway bank backing onto our garden. Have never managed to photograph these wonderful birds in the trees before. Low quality but it was so dark only manual focus...

One thing I noticed on the drunks was how many scars they all seem to have - Brum in the Edwardian age was a damn dangerous place to live......

In 1878 Hockley Brook was the boundary between Brum and Aston - so Villa St & Brougham St (Lyn) and Guildford St (me) were over the border as it were... Does this mean we both get kicked out?
