    Those “unofficial” exhaust jobs were known as “foreigners” to those working in the shop. It was remarkable how many foreigners there were!

    H’m not so sure about that :cool:, in my 4th & 5th years I got a little smarter with my lunch money. Supplemented by my part time job I was able to get, shall I say more palatable food!

    Probably by and for those with an interest in shipping. Rail was certainly becoming the preferred way to ship, they could hear the footsteps and wanted to provide more services and access.
