Birmingham car parks and car parking of the past

Yes, by both morons and sadists! Must be the qualifications required on both sides of the pond. We lived in a town in a sunny climate if you used the parking meter to get a parking ticket before dusk you could not read the screen to see what you were doing. And then more often than not if you...

    HS2 progress 2020 and beyond

And there in lies the problem! There are all of those committee’s, all of those pay points, yes common sense has disappeared! And why the county boundaries keep shifting amazes me! It must be for political reengineering, certainly not for the benefit of the populace!

    HS2 progress 2020 and beyond

A lot of stuff there! But most importantly the admission that there has been and is still a problem. Mr Wild is a project manager, I hope he stays. Sir Jon Thompson his predecessor is a counter not a manager. This reminds me of the HS rail from LA to SFO. 16 years on 10x over budget and was not...

    HS2 progress 2020 and beyond

Looks like a good piece of engineering work! Has there been an update: original scope vs current scope, and initial vs current spend £££?

Small world, I knew him briefly. He was friends with a good friend of mine, John Owen. John lived in Handsworth and then Solihull.

I did go to your temporary website and read the first chapter of your book. I liked it! I was very pessimistic at the on set but began to warm to it quite quickly! Best of luck with it…..

There are a lot of folks on this Forum that are knowledgeable and passionate about history so you are in the right place! We do not always agree but that is what makes it interesting but the history always dictates….

There was a television series called “Stranger than Fiction” looking at history, you are in the right place. Certainly Birmingham has SO much history and I dare say fiction!

For me personally, it is about history. I think any/all credits go BHF, that is why we are here. Having said that I leave that decision to the Moderator & Warren. Best of luck with your next book, you know where history is kept!

An interesting walk down Memory Lane with Big Bear Ffolly! While I am not a Black Sabbath or Heavy Metal fan [sacrilege], fortunately for them they made the right decision!

A little surprised that the services in the chapel are held monthly, I would have thought weekly.

    Old street pics..

Do remember the hotel and of course the Odeon…The only good part of that loft extension is that I was usually walking to the Odeon and never looked up that high. Think the last time I was there was when I was 18/19 and was accompanying a young lady to the Odeon and was otherwise preoccupied .
