Just looked at Kelly's for 1967/68, I'm amazed that the street was still thriving then, no signs of any closures, so perhaps between 1968 and early 70s they were blissfully unaware of the devastation that was about to descend on them and decided to brighten up the exterior, such a shame.

Yes very sad Lyn but also intriguing, the Gunmakers Arms can be seen on Gerrard Street but at the point where Gerrard Street crosses Wheeler Street there is a white building. This building must be the one shown on the left of the attached photo which was taken in 1968, so the question is why...

I would think around 1970, the Vauxhall Viva in the picture was produced between 1963 and 1979. Looks like a Ford Cortina Mk III in the background (1970-76)

Definitely the same property Lyn, still has the original lamppost in front, a nice one too.

On the 1921 Census the whole of the Howell family are living at that address but Kelly's does not list a shop at that address in 1921. I wonder when and why it became a shop and who converted it into a shop. Maud's mother appears to have died in 1925, I wonder if that prompted the family to open...

The aerial view seems to confirm that this was the shop in the photograph.

I've been checking all of the Bradley families, so many of them in Park Road but it's a 3 floor house so tends to rule out a lot of them on the aerial view.

Aerial view shows No. 127 set back from the line of houses so doesn't fit in with your image

Lyn this image appears on Ancestry under the Bradley/Phillips family tree. It is listed as the residence in 1911 of Daniel Joseph Bradley at 127 Park Road Hockley. I'm just looking at some aerial views of Park Road to see if this can be confirmed.

It would appear that the 1950s map had it incorrectly marked 'Hospital'
