    The Swan Yardley

Motor cyclist appears to have a flat hat ie no crash helmet. Did the Swan have traffic lights at some stage? Went past there to school 56-58 then to work until around 1970. The bay window, to the right of the Ford Thames van was the "snug" great room for a quiet drink! Thanks for the memories.

    Bridges over the River Cole

When we travelled along Hobmoor Road, I suppose in 1950's, my grandfather b 1893 would often refer to the crossing over the Cole as "the ford". I wonder what bucolic memories he would be enjoying.

    Chess matches in Birmingham

Not a chess player, but "Heard56/57" was David Heard, I was in the same year (he also played the flute). I do remember Mr Brown, woodwork, there were two Mr Browns, being involved with running chess.

    Moseley Kings Heath Line

The school was across Stratford Rd from the goods station. I hadn't realised that there were two other Balsall Heath stations, where the line now crosses Brighton Rd and where the line now crosses Highgate Rd.
