    Lived a short walk from Kent's Moat in 1940's well before those houses were built on the moat site. Must confess that it was a source of crested newts now a highly protected species.

    Tino, It is about sixty five years ago! Apart from your dad and uncle I can name seven, Sam Dear, Tom Clutterbuck, John Gill, Bill Butcher, Bob Plant, Jim Wilkes and Ken Spensley. I'll email a couple of the others to see if they can name the other four!

    1st and 3rd were both early '60's. The cricket one was at the Solihull Rover ground. The ladies hockey one in Olton. I wonder if The Solihull News is a link. The News always gave good publicity to amateur sports.
