    Green lane pub.

Do you mean the black Horse in Green Lane ? The Cricketers was the only pub in Little Green Lane. I cant remember the premises with the Bovril sign, just a bombsite with a woodyard behind it. Other side of Coventry Rd to that was the Coach and Horses. The building with the clock was the...

There was a Doctors further down the hill, on the samer side. Dunno the names, but it was my fathers doctor. I remember the doctor that came out was Irish and quite young, this would have been in the early 60s. Stuck in my mind because. a, he lit a cigarette the wrong way around. ie, lit the...

    Unknown beer retailer

I dont remember the outdoor, as we called them, but that looks like the corner of Mount Pleasant/Coventry Rd to me. More or less opposite the 5 minute car wash, which was the bottom of the Kingstons car park. You can also faintly see a tower block on the left, which would have been Arthur St...

    WW1 Death Certificate.

Hope this is not too daft a question. If a person died ( not KIA or of wounds ) while in serving in France during WW1. Would a death certificate have been issued, with a cause of death, other than on his service record, and if so, where could I find a copy ?

    Small Heath Streets

Was possible to climb the wall and see the match from Cattell Rd in the mid 60s. either from behind Ashley Garage - back houses had gone by then - or possibly from 'behind 'the spanner' which was the other side of the 'blues office', Then a big house nearer Tilton Rd. There were still some...

    Small Heath Streets

If you can get into the Central library, or possibly Small Heath library might have them, have a look in the electoral role for the year. a, you will find out if Olive grove was behind No. 67 and b, you might even find your parents were listed in it. I lived near there in the 60s, and cant...

    Where is This No.129

From the Clothes, looks like late 60s early 70s. I reckon You could still drive in Cherry St, but Union St was Pedestrianised, as in the picture. Somebody tell me if i'm wrong. As said before, Tax office on the right. Littlewoods on the left.

    Small Heath Streets

There were two terraces that joined Greenway St with Cattell Rd, I think Ladybird Tce and Berkeley Tce, but they were never called that by anyone round there as far as I know. Neither had cobbles as far as i remember, and bothe were on the even No.s side. there were some other back houses more r...

I can remember a yellow Norvin round brum in the late 60s, and a vinton, wonder what the difference is. Cant imagine anybody putting a dominator engine in a Vincent frame.
