I remember the shop you mention Morturn. I passed it many times in the late 50s or early 60s. I couldn't remember its name though. I recall the cobwebs and some yellowing window shades presumably to keep the sun off the books. From memory it was in the row of shops indicated on the attached map.

jmadone, I think you will find that the gedcom file will enable you to download names, dob etc and relationships but will not download any photos or documents that you have uploaded to Ancestry.

JudiM, you mention that your grandfather had boxing friends. There are several news reports of a Frank Lees, an amateur boxer belonging to the Metropolitan Amateur Club, Saltley. However, one of the reports is of a fight in 1928 when your Frank would have been only 13 years old.

This cutting from The Sports Argus, March 1955, reveals that Jack Lewis who married Joyce Davies was a regular goalkeeper for Walsall FC. He is also said to have been one of the smallest goalkeepers ever to play in League football.
