It has been bought to my attention that 'Jan Kudanowski' is currently living in Birmingham. Thomas Smith must have been a very well respected company to entice Jan to Birmingham.

I am researching violin manufacturers/luthiers who traded in Birmingham. I have been told that there was a 'music shop' / violin maker where Symphony hall is now. Does anyone recall the name of this company? How many violin manufacturers were there in Birmingham?

My father was in the RMP. He did his training in Blackpool, Cannock, Cosford and London. He saw service in England, Italy and Malta. At the end of the war he was discharged at Cannock. Hope that is of some use to you. Do you have a 'service record' of the person you are interested in?
