    Coulbourne Arms pub Villa Road

Sorry Lyn - I got confused with which building you meant on the picture - I think the one I posted on post #8 is the one next door to it.

    Coulbourne Arms pub Villa Road

Lyn is it this building 84-88 Villa Road? If so it was still there in 2009 waiting to be demolished because it was unsafe - it was known as the Black cat building because it had traded as the Black cat Cafe. A map shows it on the corner.

That is a long time ago - perhaps the only place to find it will be an old book. Hopefully one will turn up.

    Coulbourne Arms pub Villa Road

When did it close Lyn? Was it demolished? Was it a pub until it was demolished or did it close and become something else? I can't find any reference to it on-line :(

    Key Hill Cemetery

A while ago I noticed some papers that had belonged to a soldier and amongst them was a memorial card for his mother who was interred at Key Hill Cemetery in 1937. I thought I would put the information on here as it may be useful to someone in the future – I know a lot of people find their way...

    67 summerhill

Hi Zena, please could you tell me what year the baptisms took place that all give 67 Summer Hill as the address? I have been able to find newspaper reports of that address between 1884 and 1892 being a 'training home' for young girls. It seems they took in young girls leaving the workhouse who...

    Rose Villa Tavern

Beautiful painting Eric - you are so talented. I would think the copyright for google street view is about using or reproducing their actual image. I don't really see how they could complain about you painting it as you could have gone and taken exactly the same image yourself and then painted...

Handsworth Cemetery Private George Harold Faragher

Thank you Wendy :adoration: that is the certificate I was referring to. (I did try to post a reply two days ago but my laptop shut down while I was typing it and then wouldn't restart -ok now after resetting it) Also, on the list when you search for the name Faragher, Evans is directly above...

Handsworth Cemetery Private George Harold Faragher

Hi John, I have never been to Handsworth Cemetery but on here it says..... 'a screen wall commemorates those whose graves could not be individually marked' https://www.cwgc.org/find-a-cemetery/cemetery/45004/BIRMINGHAM%20(HANDSWORTH)%20CEMETERY Maybe it is a plaque that lists names and dates...

    Joseph Wilkinson Lamp manufacturer

Hi Terry, Welcome to our friendly forum. I wonder if this is your relative in earlier years? In the Birmingham Daily Post I found the following adverts for Bocock and Wilkinson 26 December 1889 - advert for Bocock and Wilkinson Electroplate Manufacturers 123, Great Hampton Street, Birmingham...

Men commemorated at Key Hill Cemetery

Andy, I know you have disguised your email address but it is still best to remove it and sent it to Alison on a private message - edit your post and remove it and then click on her name aw1552 and a drop down menu will appear - select instant message.

    Granville Street Ladywood

Hi niffan, it is strange to think he may have been the person who answered that advert and now you are reading it 131 years later! I thought it was quite interesting as it gives you a bit of an idea what the property may have been like. What number did he live at before? I didn't realise that...
