And Luciano was in Bham from at least 1891. This is from the Preston Chronicle 22 Aug 1891. It's in more local papers also but this one was free to view...
I'd list him as Pechio (he may still be Luciano's son) or whatever you've listed his sisters as but when I enter his death, in the description section I'd put 'listed as Foster'.
Though it's whatever you find easiest to understand, there is no right away.
As I said the most likely explanation is that he wasn't really a Pechio but that's just surmising. I'm not sure if when he enlisted his mother was still a Foster and not yet a Barker.
No, he is definitely the right person. The details on his page on the CWGC all match except his name.
For some reason he enlisted as Alfred Henry Foster. It may be he wasn't the son of Luciano (or Alfred Foster for that matter) and thought it easier to enlist under Foster rather than Pechio...
No, George and Rose are not her children, they are the children of a Richard Foster and an Elizabeth Fenton. They also had a son, Alfred Henry Foster of a very similar age to Alfred Henry Pechio which is where the confusion may arise.
I wouldn't say it was deliberately changed, just probably how they said it and how it was recorded.
Depending how long Luciano was around for Alexandra may not have known him. I am assuming that she was his daughter and giving her father's name as John was just a mistake.
Yes, for the most part. The spelling of Perca varies and I'd guess it was more likely to be Pechio to begin with,
Elizabeth married a Luciano Pechio in 1895. There are 3 Pechio/Smith births registered including Alexandra (as Allesandra),
In 1901 Elizabeth, Alexandra and Alfred are living with...
Got them in 1911 as well, they are listed in Warwick St, Deritend I think as Smith. Alexandra is again listed as Alexander & Alfred Henry as Alfred William.
Elizabeth is listed as a widow and there is no sign William Alfred Foster.
Jane Varaca is Elizabeth's sister.
Elizabeth, Alexandra and Albert are on the 1901 census as Perchia (Alexandra is listed as Alexander) with parents and sister in Bham.
There mother was born is listed as USA, though in 1911 it's Newdoundland. Though I'd like to find them earlier to see if she...
Got it!
Elizabeth Smith b1875 married Luciano Pechio, reg. Jun qtr 1895 Aston.
Had 3 children Allesandra (reg. Dec 1895 Bham), Violet (reg. Dec 1896 Bham, d1897) & Alfred Henry (reg. Jun 1898 Bham).
Elizabeth married Alfred William Foster, reg. Jun qtr 1908 Bham (as Perchia).
Elizabeth...
No, she had Alfred Henry Foster before she married Frank Barker.
Frank and Elizabeth are together at Ronald Road (the address listed with Alfred' death) in 1921 and 1939.
And I've just noticed that Frank was a boarder of Charles and Clara Miles in 1911.
The mother of Alfred Henry, Rose (Rosina) and George was Elizabeth Fenton. She married Richard Foster in 1896 and on the 1901 census her mother, Eliza Fenton, is living with them.
I can see that is another Alfred Henry Foster who died WWI but his mother married a Frank Barker in 1914. So she...
Why do you have an Elizabeth Barker as the mother of Alexandra Perca?
Also the wife of Richard Foster and the mother of Alfred Henry appears to have been an Elizabeth Fenton.
