    Great Hampton & Upper Hospital

As you say it seems possible that she died in the pub and the other Elizabeth just happened to be present. I see her husband was listed as a soldier and coincidence or not William Winkles appears to have previously been a soldier.

And in reference to your other thread and the info Mike has posted - there were just 4 houses between Elizabeth and a William Winkles.

That was from findmypast. She is there with a Henry, Reuben & Maria. All there birthplaces are listed as outside county. Not much to go on and this is complete speculation but she may have been Henry's second wife. There are a Reuben and an Ann Maria Panton of the right ages baptised in...

There is an Elizabeth Parton listed on Upper Hospital St on the 1841 census, no other address details given though.

James and Elizabeth Whiston, 50 Blucher Street

West Bromwich Jun 1856, which matches the Handsworth marriage with wrong father's name.

James and Elizabeth Whiston, 50 Blucher Street

I think that's correct, they are in Blucher St in 1861 and have a son Abraham Reuben in 1864. Father and son are in London with a nephew in 1871 (mentioned above).

James and Elizabeth Whiston, 50 Blucher Street

I can't see husband Matthew. I can see Matthew, Eliza's son. When I first saw it I assumed Abraham was husband but incorrectly listed until I found marriage.

James and Elizabeth Whiston, 50 Blucher Street

Definitely not Eliza's husband, who was Matthew Reynolds. There is another daughter, Elizabeth, baptised Walsall 1815 with abode listed as Bham. So they probably moved from Walsall to Bham between 1812 & 1815.

James and Elizabeth Whiston, 50 Blucher Street

I'm fairly certain they had at least 3 other children all baptised Walsall as Whistance - Thomas 1809, Ann 1811 and Harriet 1812 (mentioned above). James himself was probably baptised in 1788 also in Walsall and listed as Whistance, son of John & Sarah.

James and Elizabeth Whiston, 50 Blucher Street

Not sure if it's the same house but in 1851 Elizabeth is still on Blucher St and in 1861 Abraham & his wife are listed on Blucher St. Though on his marriage he appears to list his father as Thomas. Reuben moved to Manchester, James to London and the last I can see of Abraham he is also in...

James and Elizabeth Whiston, 50 Blucher Street

There is a death reg. for a James Whiston age 54 in Bham Jun qtr 1839. On the 1841 census Elizabeth (listed as Wistance) is living on Blucher St with 3 sons - James, Abraham & Reuben. Her daughter Eliza is on Smallbrook St with Henry & Harriet Hyde. Harriet's maiden name was Whiston, so a...

There is a possible death for John, Jun qtr 1876 Aston. And a possible one for Mary, Dec qtr 1880 Aston. Ages match what they are on the 1871 census.

Parents appear to be a John Parsons and a Mary Morson. Marriage reg. Solihull Sep qtr 1868, she is listed as Marson. There was an elder son, James, b1869. He appears to be in Sir Josiah Masons Orphanage in 1881 and is listed as an orphan

    william john dawson 1878 cannock

I think you've got to assume she was telling the truth until you can prove that she wasn't. But as we know so little about him for certain that might be nigh on impossible. DNA may be the only way to find out who he was this time, though I wouldn't be surprised if he is the John Dawson in...

    Surname misspelt

Spelling of names at that time could vary from record to record. Many people couldn't read or right and once they told someone their name it was down to that person how they spelt it. Also with people moving to different parts of the country accents probably played a part. By the time people...

    Mary Ann Biggs

There are 2 other Biggs/Ellis birth reg. listed in Bham in the 1850s. James 1856 and Enoch 1859. Can't tell if they are theirs. There's a death reg. for Enoch but not for James. Even so I can't see anything else for Robert, Mary Ann or James.
