I'm sure I've mentioned it before but my 3 x g grandad's brother emigrated to Australia (2 children died on the voyage), then to California and then back to Australia (without his wife and most of his children). Luckily there was even a bit of a report about the first voyage.

She wasn't the oldest either, the difference between the eldest and youngest is 56 years. My nan was my grandad's much younger second wife.

Two of my much older cousins married each other and emigrated to Victoria, Australia in the 1960s with 3 of their siblings. I don't how much contact they had with their siblings who remained. She returned at least once, in the late 1980s I'd guess, and I have a photo of her at my aunt's house...

The information I've found on the 1921 census has been interesting but I miss the days when something you uncovered was truly exciting - new names, new places, new family. And doing other people's trees is also interesting but it's not the same.

There's a listing in Bham Mail on the 28th Feb which happened to be free to view on findmypast. That's where I got the above though it's not totally clear.

Judging by some of the hints Ancestry give you, I wouldn't have much faith in their incorrect dates feature.

George Chiswell's death was mentioned in the Staffordshire Advertiser, he was described as a serjeant and quarter master of the King's Own Militia.

I assume you know that George Chiswell died in Stafford and 3 of his sons married there.
