    Any Hope for this Photo?

Thank you so much for all your help. The images are so much clearer now. I must have another look at the younger ones who I have photos of and maybe I'll be able to identify them. Lynda:)

    MMMmmmmm.....

Funny you should talk about corned beef Betty. I was only thinking this week about my favourite dinner which was 2 slices of corned beef with 2 veg and gravy. It was like heaven. Never thought about whether it was an inexpensive dish or not. I just loved it. MMmmmm. Lynda

    Good Old Fashioned Winters

My memories are from the fifties in Brum, and when the snow started to melt. It was like a minefield stepping out of our back door, as the overhang of snow could have killed 'yer if it dropped on your head. Does Brum still get it as bad? Lynda

It is for a certainty that none of us know what tomorrow brings. So let there always be no regrets, and stay close to those we love, and hold dear. Thought provoking story David. Lynda:0429:

    Johnson

This really is a hard one.. Sorry I cannot help anymore, but would be interested if you do come across it, so please let us know I've got an idea that if you ask for the fathers name as well GRO won't charge you if it is another name, but I may have that wrong. Perhaps someone else can help...

    Johnson

I've found him in the 1871 census living in Rowley Regis with Mary. He says he is 29 and that his wife is 21 but I have found with my relies they lied about their ages all the time, but no luck yet on his Dad. He was born in Rowley Regis and she was born in Oldbury. Will try later Lynda:)

    Johnson

Looking at Family Search, there is an Edwin Johnson born to a Phoebe Johnson christened in September 1840. This ties in with a family living in New Street Rowley Regis in 1841 census where she and Edwin are living with her father Benjamin. Will see if I can find her in any further census. Lynda:)

The Fallen Star and Arms of the Angels

Such sad words Astonian. We lost a son 3 years next month aged 28, and he was one of 4 children. The loss still hurts and your poem set the tears flowing again. We often forget how brothers and sisters feel though, as they don't often express their feelings, but only the other day someone was...
