    Overbury, Worcs

That is beautiful John. Very similar to the photo I have somewhere. Mary Harris died in Church Row Overbury and we took photos of the house. Present owners must have wondered what we were doing. Such a lovely area but my rellies were all farm labourers. Some were from Conderton just a stones...

    Overbury, Worcs

Eric. What a superb painting. My Harris family originated in Overbury, having moved from 'down the road' in Ashchurch when William married Elizabeth Allard in St Faith church Overbury in 1743. There remained a Harris in the village until 1968 when the last of that clan died. Would you mind if I...

    Wheelwright Road Erdington

I went to Erdington Hall School from 1957-1961 and walked from Abbey Road, up Hunton Hill and down Wheelwright Road, so it's a wonder my footprints aren't imprinted on that road. Yes it certainly brings back memories. Lynda:)

    Lest We Forget

In our little village here in Wales, I live on a hillside looking down into the village. At 11am I heard a lonely bugle play, and amid the peace and tranquility, I found it very moving. We mustn't forget, but the saddest part of it is that those who run the countries we live in will still send...

    Origins of the Brummie accent

All I can say on the matter is that as a Brummie in exile here in Wales, I like nothing better than hearing a voice from Brum out of the blue. I warm to them straight away, and want to know where they come from and if they remember so and so, or such a place. I love the countryside around, and...
