I don’t have dogs but I am a dog lover. But I also know they can be unpredictable when put into situations they’re not used to. I think the easy solution is that when using a tram they must me made to wear a muzzle.
It is still there.. it’s a bit shabby these days so could do with a refurb. But a decent enough boozer with a local crowd you can have a laugh and some banter with.
I was born there in 82 and lived near it till my mid 20’s. Played on the site after it closed/before they knocked it down and then had friends live in the new houses built right on top of it.
Bringing an old chat back to life but are you still involved in the Pumphouse Mort? I’ve been to a couple of open days and the live gig they did there. A Lovely old building. I live on the road it is on and would love to help out.
I vaguely remember a Roman centurion on it during the 90’s. I wonder why they changed it to a tank? I’m guessing there’s a tank called centurion.. but why bother with the change? ♂️
No sadly they’ve still not found them. They haven’t arrested anyone but the police believe it was a guy who worked in the area at the time and is currently in prison for child sex offences (hope he’s getting daily beatings).
The centurion and The Greenwood are the only two pubs still open. Also...
The happy trooper is now houses. Here’s the pub sign for the Friendly Inn which is a nursing home now and I’m told the sign sits in the living room area of that nursing home. Many great pubs gone but many great memories remain. I’m still a member of the Banbury club.
