    Opposite Crawford’s shop was this other attached picture of shops. On the left of Crawfords marked Restaurant, which was a previously A D Wimbush bakers shop. Also attached are the names and numbers for this area.

    Same shop but my everlasting memory was the huge bacon slicer. The operator turned a handle that moved the base holding the meat, and with his free hand caught the slice and put it on a piece of grease proof paper.

    Hi Stitcher, my brother worked at the bakery in Muntz Street, it was called ‘Houses’. I have a Houses delivery vehicle somewhere, not sure if it was horse drawn or Electric, I will try and find it. Ray.

    Think it was Mapstones I did night shift collecting newspapers and packing bundles of newspapers.
