It’s unfortunate that children and grandchildren have to go through that for what I am sure was an inordinate period of time…. On a different matter, welcome to BHF, it is a very good place with well intentioned folks. And thank you again for the clarification regarding your grandparents!

    Italians in Birmingham

A very interesting, ancient town with tumultuous long history! I wonder what caused the exodus to Birmingham and were there other places that the populace went to and why?

    Smallbrook Ringway

I agree with Sparks & Viv…..that place never did anything for me. There are building in Birmingham that are well 9ver 150 years old, so much for planning obsolescence! This city has no money to keep libraries open but they can build ugly places like that and not worry because the public is...

    Computer help please 2025

If it’s only a year old, I doubt the hard drive because most likely it’s solid state. I think a usb sound card is worth a try.

Yes a big bite out of your 10/6 for sure. I never had a paper round (I worked at a butcher shop), did you get tips on your paper round? I delivered meat and my tips on a Saturday were almost as much as my earnings cutting meat.

That is still a great song, appreciated by so many still! Cher was in Nashville (Music City) a few years ago and bought the house down with that song. Her voice a little weaker but adjusted with the newer audio technology.

The only Wimpy Bar I went to I think was on Snow Hill, circa 1960/61.

Yes, I think that is more than fair! Even if you could be a non paying guest for a month (or something like that) then make a modest contribution and go from there. To Marks point a £1 per month would help (or more).

    Cadbury's Bournville Factory

I wonder if a chronology of the city could be built using those books? Does anyone know the frequency as to which/when the books were published as a starting point.

No, but if we don’t try we will see no change!

    Bournville Village

    Very very nice!

Good point! Is there something we can do to show why it’s better to be a member than a guest?

    Cadbury's Bournville Factory

Looks like it would provide great insight into our great city!

This is from “A short history of Heathfield Hall” by Graham Stevenson. I hope this helps.

I signed up for the monthly subscription, even if you can’t/don’t want to do that, please try to make a donation of some kind. It is unfair to let it fall mostly on Warren and it is for such a good cause!

    Cadbury's Bournville Factory

Classy building as it appears all Cadbury buildings are!

So sad that they knocked that down, it would have been right at the end of the road that I lived on, where West & North Drives are today!
