    West Midlands Metro trams 2020

Just realised with one of my old Seville, Spain photos, that they had batteries on their Urbos trams with the pantograph down, about 5 to 6 years before they gave West Midlands Metro the same technology. Probably not to spoil the outside of the Cathedral, like with our Town Hall.

    Centenary Square development 2020

Glad you like them. Technically the square was finished last summer. Other than what they started at Symphony Hall which is another project. And there is some old 1991 paving / bricks between The ICC and REP towards Cambridge Street that hasn't been changed. This was in December 2019.

The Sherwood - Yardley Wood / Hall Green

When I got my first photo of it on Highfield Road, Yardley Wood, it was the Behan's Bar. Late December 2011. My most recent photo taken last year from the no 76 bus as D. J. Quinn's. March 2019.

    Centenary Square development 2020

No problem David. From 1991 until now, I think the only way into Symphony Hall was via the ICC Mall, or for VIP's over the bridge from the Hyatt. Until it's finished we wont see Boulton, Watt & Murdoch back. And when I was last on Broad Street, hoardings near Symphony Hall for the Metro...

    Victoria Square

Checking if the Ebony dog paw prints stone was still near the plinth of the Queen Victoria statue. As there is currently roadworks all over the square. Ah there it is. Glad they haven't removed it.

    Unused railway "arm" in Digbeth.

Was walking up Upper Trinity Street and got these views of the Duddeston Viaduct joining onto the Bordesley Viaduct in Digbeth. So many cars parked around the streets of Digbeth, including partly on pavements. I've edited these March 2013 photos to fix the lighting.

    Centenary Square development 2020

Was probably busier when Ice Skate Birmingham was on. Yes it looks better after dark. During the day / weekends / school holidays, you would find kids playing in the water jets. Broad Street will be closed off until next year sometime I think.

    Centenary Square development 2020

It was quieter, less people around. Would guess it's busier on Friday and Saturday nights. But with Broad Street hoarded off all the way to Five Ways, wonder if it's still as busy as it used to be?

    Centenary Square development 2020

Glad you like them. Don't usually go to town after dark. Although got in before the sun went down for an event. Yes it's changing a lot. Roadworks, buildings going up all over the city centre. And other areas. But not as much.
