    Gino's Italian Restaurant

It was a regular for spot my mom and step dad Frank and was the first 'proper' restaurant I went to (Queensway) back in the 60s when still a nipper. I remember Frank asking for water so he could dilute a tot of wine for me to eat with my meal...I felt very grown up and the waiter congratulating...

Western Digital are stopping remote access support for some of the WD My Cloud drives this year. You can still use them as normal on your home network but won't be able access away from home so maybe worth looking out for as people will panic and start flogging them off on ebay. If you have a...

A basic NAS is a hard drive in a box you plug into your internet router. You computer (and most smart TV's) will find it in explorer and you can back up your files to it. Next step up is one with two hard drives and as you move data to one drive its also copied to the second drive...

    Windows 10

To be honest I don't care about the anonymous data the likes of MS and Google collect because it generally helps develop the technology more and its not like they are actually tracking the real you, that said I'm also in favour of a national DNA data base, and bio/medical/DNA I.D. cards. I...

    Windows 10

I don't bother deleting 'bloatware', I just don't use them and if your machine is half decent they don't slow it down. Programmes I use daily are pinned to the task bar and its rare I need to touch the search box. I do change my desktop image pretty much weekly, usually mountains or film...

    Windows 10

I've got some over 100 years old and they work, the technology is so simple and 10,000 BTU/3Kw they cook well. Back on track, I've got an old AMD X4 620 PC base unit coming to me so let see if I can get W11 installed and working on this machine from about 2007 I'm told...give me something to...

    Computer help

Windows 10 is good at providing a driver for most 'extras' you fit, certainly enough to get you up and running. What does the windows network trouble shooter say when you open it up. If its a driver issue more often than not it will tell you.

Until they drop support for W10 no, there is no major need to upgrade. If your machine is newish you can upgrade for free now, just type check for updates in the search box and you'll get a message saying if your machine is capable of running Windows 11 which is what I've done on three machines...

    Radio

I had a little transistor radio for my 13th birthday and took on a school camping/climbing trip and it was like a kid today walking into school with a brand new iPhone lol. Up in Snowdonia Luxembourg and Voice of America would come booming through. Still love radio today, ham radio and...

    Radio

BBC radio is log in free on the BBC Sounds app for phone/computer https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds At least we're not stuck with just four TV stations these days. Britbox is pretty good, PlutoTV on the NowTV stick/phone/computer has some good content sometimes but you have to look for it...

    Radio

To be honest I've been a fan of aunty beeb all my life and thought the license fee good value taking into account what the beeb offers in total, TV/radio/news/podcasts but this last couple of years its changed dramatically with its focus aimed at keeping the young/woke/snowflake/offended by...

    MY FIRST/SECOND GRANDCHILD
