I had an appointment at the Bham Treatment Centre and I took my cameras as I planned to photograph Dudley Rd Hospital before it is "consumed". This caught my eye as I drove passed so I quickly diverted - but only had 20 minutes. By the time I got back the workmen had gone home and the site was...

Next the passage which was behind the station building and led to the platform stairs - this was originally covered and traces of the roof supports can still be seen:-
Change alert!!! Hockley Station forecourt is now being converted into car parking with electric charging points - the front wall is down and a lower perimeter wall is being built. Site will be tarmac'd and (I assume) the various orrifices into the old station wall will be bricked up for "Health...
The colour photo is amazing as it shows clearance of Wheeler St, Guildford St - in fact most of Newtown. Few odd buildings still standing - first few new buildings going up - looks like a bomb has dropped - just as I remember it from when we moved out of Guildford St in the late 1960s. Thank you...

Two fascinating posters from this website - both advertising trips to "The Great Cycling Meeting" at Aston Lower Grounds in 1894. Three years later Aston Lower Grounds would of course become Villa Park!
