The cobbles are on the top, the layer of pebbles is maybe 3 ft lower, there are many different layers of ground that the archaeologists are interested in and there may be more below yet
My photo taking skills are not the best, away from the spring for a day or 2,
uncovering under the cobbles i suspect were court 17
We have what looks like a pebble walkway or road
