    Thanks. Seems likely then.

    Selina/ Sarah Turner 1868-1902

Not sure if this has been mentioned. Though he appears to be listed as single when he married Selina, is it possible that Samuel was married before and also had another daughter? On the 1891 census there are a Samuel & Mary (nee Dance) with daughter, Lily, living on Lawley St. he is listed as...

    Selina/ Sarah Turner 1868-1902

There's a possible death for Samuel reg, Fylde Dec qtr 1921. I can't see Elizabeth Hickling on the 1901 census either which makes me wonder if she and Samuel were already together and living under an assumed name or deliberately avoided being listed on the 1901 census - just speculation.

It is possible that he re-married later the same year that Selina died, to an Elizabeth Hickling, so he probably knew. On the 1921 census they are in Blackpool with Elizabeth's niece. His age is slightly wrong but he appears to be still listed as a fruiterer.

Burial grounds and cemeteries in Birmingham 1873

Old maps show nothing except gardens then wharfs. There was a Roman Catholic church - St Peter's - on the other side of the canal with a burial ground but as it was only built towards the very end of the 18th century I doubt there were any burials of that type...

    Any Amateur Sleuths out there?

There doesn't appear to be any untruths on the marriages for the elder children, father's are listed correctly and Charlotte is a witness on Nicholas' as Charlotte Tighe. Three options would seem to be that Percival died and Charlotte re-married where the records are not as readily available...

    Any Amateur Sleuths out there?

All the children (not all info correct) listed with Patrick and 'Caroline' Tighe on 1901 census can be matched to baptisms with mother listed as Charlotte (Talbot for all except Kennedy for Kathleen). Nicholas Ferguson, Charlotte & Jane Kennedy and Margaret & Kathleen Tighe.

    D.N.A. TESTING

About halfway through the article... 'According to 23andMe, deleting an account and associated data will permanently delete the data associated with all profiles within the account.' If that means what it seems to mean I don't know.

Is this of interest? (old map of Birmingham)

I assume this is the map being discussed in this old thread. Just been looking at it and wondering about street name origins - some being a bit more obvious than others. I was wondering about Steelhouse Lane then noticed Kettle's Steel Houses. A couple markings around Smallbrook Street also...

    Alma -Elma Gibson.

Elma is listed with Ken and his wife on the ERs from 2002. Ken's wife is still there on the 2024 ER.

    K.Lane Fruiterer

There's a Kate Lane listed at 865 Coventry Road on the ERs which was near Heybarnes Road on the opposite side of the road. Where Asda is, so no longer exists.

    Alma -Elma Gibson.

Is there a blanked out entry at the same address that could be her? If not then wherever she is, she will probably be blanked out there, which would make it virtually impossible to have her unblanked. She also appears to have been incorrectly recorded on the register (scan as well) as Elina.

    D.N.A. TESTING

And when the English invaded Ireland in the reign of Henry II most of the leaders would have been of Norman (and hence Viking) descent, including the de Birmingham family.
