Interesting that Allum Rock is marked by the convent rather than where the Rock Pub was.

    Graff, Phylis May, 1920 - 2000

Not many Graf/Graff men around in 1881/1891 but on 1891 census there is a Joseph Graf (an Austrian ?) b1857 living in Nottingham. He possibly marries a Phoebe Camm in 1907.

    Graff, Phylis May, 1920 - 2000

Phyllis's father Percy was registered as Percy Graf Adkins in Nottingham 1885, the illegitimate son of an Alice Adkins from Kenilworth and I'd assume a Mr Graf.

I also note that his age looks to be incorrect on his gravestone. He appears to have been born in 1910/1911. He had at least 2 brothers and 6 sisters.

I can't be sure but it's possible that he was the fourth husband of a Beryl Mavis Herrington. They didn't marry until 1988, so if that was his only marriage (and I can't see any others in Eng & Wales) then he probably hasn't had any children. She died in 2010.

1939 Register lists her at 62 Downing St. She re-married in 1952 to a William J Hayward, they don't appear to have had any children. She possibly died in 2007, death registered in Sandwell. There doesn't appear to be a death registered (England & Wales) for David (as Honey) up to 2023.

Does anyone know the location of this one ?

There are a couple of mentions of Crowther Bros associated with funerals in the newspapers but later. Address sems to be 76 Paradise St, West Bromwich. And on the 1921 census there is a Benjamin Crowther listed in West Brom with an occupation listed as something to do with funeral.

Joseph Taylor, 8 Cranby Street Birmingham

A couple of little bits about the Rhodes family. Arthur Rhodes was one of fifteen children of Francis & Julia (Bevington). Can't imagine Julia's was a pleasant life - married at 18, had the 15 children and died at 43. As mentioned Leonard's sister died as a baby. His brother Arthur appears to...

Appear to be from further afield the further you go back. Arthur was born in Wolverhampton and Sarah Ann's father was from London I think. Though Arthur's father was possibly born in Bham.

Apologies if you already know this. Robert had 2 children whilst in India and he died there in 1876. His widow, Emily, returned to England, re-married the interestingly named John Shepherd Saffhill and had another son. Robert's eldest son and the one born in India both appear to have also been...

Ok, it's become a little clearer, the 1939 Register did me. Kate and George were siblings and obvious shouldn't have been listed as married. So, some of the above is wrong. Maud and Emily were indeed your spinster great aunts as you knew anyway, sisters of Kate.

Robert Thomas was your grandfather I think, the father of Geoffery Ernest - your father? Which would possibly mean that Maud and Emily were step aunts, if George and Kate did marry, as well as more obscure relations if Robert & George were cousins.

Kate's father and George Robert's (Maud & Emily's brother) were both called Joseph, who were both sons of 2 more (different) Josephs. Robert Thomas's (Kate's husband) father was also called Robert and he was born in Bham and was a soldier and the son of another Robert. I think George, Maud &...

Lived on Haughton Road? If so they are there on the 1939 Register but I can't quite work out what's going on. They are there with their brother, who I think is listed as married to a Kate and her children. Can't see a marriage for them and she appears to have been the widow of a Robert Thomas...
