I really like that song as well Jenny. The train spotters on here might enjoy this. https://www.lantz.ca/moosoneetrains.htm When I was young we used to go on our bikes to Perry Hall playing field and sit in the middle of the bridge taking train numbers and getting the driver to sound their...

Just noticed the photo of the tree, was it a heron in the tree? They will eat fish as I'm sure you know. They live in the marsh by use in the summer months, fly south for the winter. :)Mo

Mikejee - It is a very popular passenger train and as Jenny says expensive. Believe me you are not stuck in the middle of freight cars. The one coach has a glass dome to view the scenery through. My brother and his wife did the journey from Toronto to Lake Louise and then took the coach to...

Are you on the photos Wendy? Where did you get the photos of the Ice Shows from? When was the opening of Silverblades? What date did Springhill close, I can't remember. I went to Silverblades once to visit Ken Vicars. I thought I skated at Springhill until about 1962 but I might be wrong. I...

This is actually an ad for the train journey across Canada but it is my dream to do this. We would probably do it in two halves as we live basically in the middle. Hope it works for you and you enjoy it. It looks as though all they do is eat and drink.:)Mo...

    St Andrews, Handsworth.

Has anyone heard anything about this? A friend in England emailed me over the weekend to tell me this year is the 100th Anniversary of St. Andrews Anglican Church, Handsworth. It was the church my family went to and John and I got married there in 1968. We were very involved with the church...

That's great you picked up on the suggestion from last April oldMohawk to start a school photo thread. I didn't hear anything back from Keith on it and so nothing happened. Glad you got it going. Photo of Handsworth Wood Girls County Modern, Church Lane. June 1958 Teachers and Prefects June...

Wendy the photos are amazing where did you get them? I know I was in two of those shows but I can't see myself. We had different scenes and I think we came in for a morning of just photos so if I was in two scenes we may have had our other costumes on for the other photo. I was in the one with...

Glad you liked it Peter, we were so glad we went to visit after so many years away. Do you mind fairly recent photos or do you prefer old ones? Although I don't know most of the ones posted I do enjoy this thread. Mo

Keep trying, you are generally quite a long way away. Not sure if you have noticed but it is a dual carriageway going up the hill. The house with the white walls used to be a mini dairy, local milkman Mr Whitehouse if you can believe it. Mo

John - I wonder when the Corporation Street one was. The bus looks modern and yet the cloths look quite long on some of the women. Mo
