    Veggies

I do like tomato chutney but I tasted it while I was cooking it once and the recipe had mustard in it. Wow it burnt my mouth. I'm th only one who likes it so I don't make it now. :) Mo

    Veggies

We have 12 tomato plants in the garden besides other veggies. By the end of the summer we will have more tomatoes than we can eat. They are not ready yet. When we start having a frost I hate to see the tomatoes zapped so I pick them all and wrap them in newspaper and put them in a card board...

We saw that Jean, did you hear whether it was actually true? That was the weirdest thing I think we have heard in a long time. Mo

Stitcher - Go back to the beginning of the thread which started on One Favorite thing about Birmingham and then we started this thread as the content was different. Since then you will see most people including myself agree with you that Birmingham was a great place and many of us our families...

    Sliced Bread is 70

I think Wonder loaf was the first sliced bread I remember. My friends family across the road had it and it seemed really posh, they were a little better off than us. A luxury at their house for me was chips form the fish and chip shop in Wonder loaf sliced bread. My friend loved ketchup...

I think I remember that Jean worse still as they have shaken hands at the end of a game they spit in their hand before shaking if they are up set. That is gross but sports people get away with it. Kids on minor leagues pick up these habits from their heroes.

Jenny- Maybe it was felt people didn't do it as much today and when they replaced the bus stops that was a saving. I agree they should have been left there or replaced. I can remember men doing it all the time, I assumed it was because they had tobacco in their mouths from smoking. And then as...

As you say Norma the size of the country dictates how it is run. All the Provence's of Canada are huge except for the eastern provinces and the same applies regarding the police as in the States. We have Federal Police which are those handsome Mounties, Provincial Police and Regional police...

My feelings completely NAS. Because of the number of people in the cities there is an increase in crime and certainly here in the shootings. Not to point fingers but having the many thousands of miles of border with the States guns pour over in exchange for drugs as you know NAS. Things are...

Stitches - I would agree to most of your comments in 'One favourite fact about Birmingham' #81 which is some what different #67. You are right something has to be done to keep young people both in school and college or university. As I have said before local governments and community...

Do you know this swimming bath?.

As you said Jean it looks a bit like Handsworth pool but I guess all the pools built at that time look much the same. I haven't been in there since the 1950's like Alf, I just remember the changing rooms along the side but as I say I'm sure others are the same. Mo

I hesitate to post a reply to you last post Stitches as I think your mind is made up and you have forgotten how things were in the 40's and 50's. Mini skirts were in in the 50's and 60's along with stilettos also the net petticoats making climbing bus stairs near to impossible. Every generation...
