    I personally never went in the pub it was only what I had heard but it was rough around late 80s till it shut down .I think there is a mosque school in it now the building must be listed as all of it was knocked down except the front.

    Yes the gaffer was called dot she had blonde hair and my mum was called ruby she came from the lamplighter pub she was only the gaffer for a few years .

    Yes lyn I agree but there was a lot of sexual innuendos on these programmes which we loved to hear and they were so funny but I cannot understand these are banned on programmes now but not the full sex scenes you see on telly these days .I THINK THE WORLDS GONE MAD!

    Yes two episodes are on ITV 3 every afternoon but I only started watching it at the time when hilda Ogden sold her house to Sally and Kevin Webster but bet lynch is still in it running the rovers return!!

    Yes that's probably the stall I went too in the market as I was well into reggae them days .I remember the stall being on a corner and very dark and about you chatting the girls up in woolworths it was all in jest ! Nowadays it would be classed as assault . How times have CHANGED!

    I've lived on trinity rd since the 70s and the rat pan was a bit rough but not as bad as the guild arms( known as the guild) on witton rd by the sacred heart church.

    It was definitely a bingo hall in the late 60s as we lived round the corner in bracebridge st till 1972 and my mum and auntie were always in there ! Also the second photo that astoness sent down of the hippodrome if you expand the photo you see one of the billboards says super jackpot .

    I only remember it as a bingo hall but I do remember my mum telling me that she and my dad was playing bingo up in the gods which was called that because it was so steep upstairs where they were seated one night that the bingo was stopped because they announced that JFK was just assinated .
