    My Father as a young boy, lived in what was the Aston Brook Tavern in Powell St Aston. Several families had rooms in this pub.     Royal Warwickshire 1/8 Battalion

    I am sure that by this evening you will know it all. I have had great help from the experts . My knowledge is that The 1/8th Battalion ended the war on 11 Nov 1918 near Landrecies, France. My Grandfather was in the 1/8th as well. regards Amanda

    My father told me years ago that his grandfather was in the Ten Arches Gang, and was a Peaky Blinder. It was facinating to read the book and to see the photos which I have to say look just like the photos that I have of Gt grandad. Amanda

    School Caretakers

    Our Caretaker at Duddeston Manor Bilateral School (as it was then !) was Mr Ray Britten. He was so strict but the school was kept like a new pin. I always thought he was a great man with high standards, his wife was lovely too. regards Amanda

    Dot you will be very lucky to find your grave there if it was at the front of the church, as the vicar had all the not claimed graves removed and smashed up. I wont go into details again as my blood boils. regards Amanda

    I was one of the children rounded up for publicity photo taking on that statue. The photo was in the Birmingham Mail. I would love to see that photo again. Mom seems to have lost the newspaper cutting. Well after all those years I suppose she would!! Amanda
