    Advice please. My wife has an i-pad which works on system 16. She has used it to buy on e-bay for ages, but e-bay now insist that she does an update which it seems needs her i-pad to have system 17. Surely there must be a fix? ps please keep any advice simple!

    I have an adopted daughter, now in her 50's, I did a search on Ancestry and her original birth record was there. The original birth certificate reference had a line though, but it could be read and another reference was written alongside, no idea what this referred to but It wasn't the adoption...

    Did you get to correct it on Ancestry(how?) or do you mean in your own records. I notice in some instances you can get to see marriage certificates and in others not, is there a date cut off?

    I certainly don't mind, I've spent too many hours on Ancestry since your reply just looking at George Kirby and I am not usually obsessive, in fact "it's near enough" could be my epitaph. Still not sure!

    Probably Pershore Rd opposite to Fordhouse Lane. GKN broken up in recent years. Aerospace now Melrose, Automotive now Dowlais Group Plc. Not aware of any screw manufacturing.

    Enjoying my journey, does anyone know anything about Shustoke Industrial School Fillongley Meriden. My father in law was a 15year old inmate My guess it is some form of remand home, wonderful what you discover!
