    The True Horrors Of Ww2

I know little of the range of V1's etc but I do know that in 1944 the government were moving children out of London to Birmingham to put them beyond their range. I have personal memories of this influx.

My,we had some rain last night down here in South West, garden pond went from about a foot below it's normal level to full to brim. IN OUR GARDENS 2025

Yes, thank you Janice, pittosporum, and certainly is more scented at night. We live near to Marwood Gardens which has a enormous collection of camillias, which all seem to have blousy flowers ranging from a white to a dark red.

    IN OUR GARDENS 2025

No idea what plant this is, I'm sure someone will tell me! Planted by a previous occupant. It's a tree size, this is the flower, and it has the most fragrant perfume. Such a drab flower seems there could be a moral there somewhere!

Sight loss in one eye can you claim benefit.

I notice that the notification of my pension for 2025 refers to "your benefits". It's my pension, I paid contributions for forty years! Am I being too sensitive?

Sight loss in one eye can you claim benefit.

No wonder the benefit bill for the UK is as high as it is. Everyone seems to be actively seeking what they can get. Getting old means bits wear out that's the way it is.

    Mecca Ballrooms/Mayfair Suite

Was the Mayfair mentioned in this thread next to New St station and in 1966 would it have been a gambling casino. I "know" on the evening after the World Cup match at Villa Park I saw members of the Argentine team in there playing the tables.

    Barrows Stores

I notice way back in 2016 you refer to Mothering Sunday as Mother's Day, an American event, which by now has almost totally morphed into this alien identity!

    Computer help please 2025

    The Railways in Wartime

I've just read, vide supra/see book mentioned above, of a railway man who won a GC for jumping into a rail wagon and freeing a burning German incendiary bomb that had landed among a load of our own high explosive 250lb bombs and tossing it from the wagon.
