Regarding Rissoles; If you have a Lidl or Aldi near you, you will find in the cold meat section something called Frikadellen, they are delicious pan fried. They are the German version of Rissoles.

Re: Alfred Henry Sewell
This is curious. In 1927, the Electoral Rolls shows an Alfred Henry Sewell, and a Millie Shaw, living a Court 6 House 2 Branston street.
By the time of the 1930 Electoral Roll he is at the same address, but alone.

Re: Clara W Smith abt 1880 / Connor/ Tiltman / Hames
On the Electoral Rolls for 1920 - 1930 There is a Clara Winnifred Connor living at 61 Hawksley Drive, Northfield, living with Thomas Collet Connor. Of course no ages are given.

In loving memory of my Gt Uncle William (Bill) Davis, husband of my Gt Aunt Nell. Sth Staffs Regt. Killed in action 1st Nov 1916. Gone but never forgotten.
Don't know if this helps, but my Grandad was in the 8th Bn OBLI, and this is what the 8th Bn did;

I watched that in disbelief, the back-to-back I lived in as a child wasn't like that at all. Where were the black beetles and the silver fish running everywhere, and the coal under the stairs, and the............. I could go on all night about the dump we lived in. A very sanitized...
