I have hit a brick wall with my Gt Grandmother. She was born Sarah Browning 9 Jan 1864 in Birmingham, England. On the 2 Jun 1882 she married my Gt Grandfather
James John Wescott Oldfield in Birmingham England, on the marriage cert he is just shown as James.

Hi John.
William Hughes is on the 1851 census at Bredon, living with his father Benjamin Hughes.
Also on the census are Williams wife Ann, and his two children Elizabeth and William H.
census attached. He is also on the 1871 and the 1881.
Just to say the spelling of the street is Hingeston not Hingestion.
There is a Kendall family in Hingeston St, they are as follows.
living at No 82.
1925 Edwin Kendall Ellen Kendall
1930 Edwin Kendall Helen Kendall Vera Ellen Kendall
1935 Edwin Kendall Helen Kendall Vera...
Hi Katie.
I have checked the Electoral Roll Index from 1912 to 1935 and your man does not appear in Hingestion Street, also applies to Daphne Kendall.
There is a Frederick Kendall who appears in Kent Street.
Barrie.
John. perhaps the answer is to send for the marriage cert. It will have her fathers name on there. You can stipulate that you don't want the cert unless the fathers name is Benjamin.

Re: Thomas Charlesworth
You're very welcome mate, the help I have received from other folks on this site couldn't be beaten. This must be one of the best family history sites on the web.
Re: Thomas Charlesworth
Have looked through all 4 quarters of 1953 and the first quarter of 1954 and he isn't there. There is a Thomas Charlesworth in the 1st quarter of 1954, but he was registered in Nottingham and is 66 years of age.
Did he have any other christian names?
Hi Kath. Have looked through the electoral roll index from 1930 to 1945, there isn't a Mary Baker in Shakespeare St. There are hundreds of women named Mary Baker, do you know who she might be with?
Barrie.
ps. is Mary Baker her full name?
This is possibly Henry Gossage on the 1901 census, his wifes name is Selina, so they could have had a daughter of that name later. Do the names of the other children sound familiar?

Selina and Elijah were living in Lower Trinity Street in 1939 and by 1945 they were living in Golden Hillock Road. I have attached the electoral rolls for those addresses.
Barrie.
edited to add; it looks as if they were living with Selina's dad in Lower Trinity Street.
Regarding James Byrne.
Do you have the marriage cert? if so what was his fathers name?
Do you know where James Byrne was born?
All this would enable people to help with your searches.
Barrie.
ps James Byrne is pencilled in at the bottom of the register sheet for marriages in Dec Qtr...
Re: water Moore
Hi Bill,
Thats it mate. Thats his medal card (if it is him) 2/3 of the army records for WWI were lost in the London blitz. The chances of finding anything further are a bit remote I'm afraid.
