100 Years of British Buses and Trolleybuses

That is very infuriating about the stolen wires, I had seen on the website that the trams and trolleys were off but didn't realise why until now. As for the new policy on "local" only vehicles I would have mixed feelings, I can understand both sides of the arguement. Personally I feel that...

    The Mighty Maglev re-appears...

This brings back memories, on my first visit to Birmingham in the early 1990's I remember travelling on the Maglev but knew nothing of it's history until reading this thread. I really hope it hasn't gone for scrap as £100 is probably less that it's actual scrap value. Shame on the original bidder!

B.C.T. MOF 9 bus for sale

Lovely artwork Mike. I love those Birmingham "standards" and likewise if there was a spare 10 grand around I would snap it up!

B.C.T. MOF 9 bus for sale

Developments at Aston Manor mean that there could be quite a few other historic Birmingham and West Midlands buses facing an uncertain future as well. All very worrying.

B.C.T. MOF 9 bus for sale

That registration, as with any 'three letter, three number' one, would be worth a small fortune now! Hopefully the registration will remain with the bus as it's an important part of its history and this may be a factor in the asking price. Hope this bus finds a good home.

The former Coventry Corparation Bus Garage Sandy Lane is up for sale

I paid a quick visit there last month to take exterior photos and i'm glad I did seeing as it could be facing an uncertain future. My namesake 6918 started its service life there which was another reason for my visit.

    bedford dupal

The VAL 14 had the Leyland 400 engine but later on the VAL 70 replaced it and had the Bedford 466 engine which was still a small enough engine for a coach that size.
