    Fish and Chips Ballsall Heath

Hi Sue, Would this be Mrs. Floyds fish and chip shop? I lived nearby and regularly ate her chips - out of newspaper of course. We left the area in 1966 as a result of the slum clearance. Jill

    KENT STREET BATHS

I belonged to the Birmingham Ladies Swimming Club at Kent Street baths. I learned to swim there and was awarded a medal for swimming quarter of a mile (I was only 10 at the time). Anyone else remember this club?

Bob, I'd forgotten about Fosters and the overhead rail until you mentioned it. We often used the British Restaurant in school (Hope Street) lunch break and shopped in Woolies after. We also went to the Moseley and Alhambra but the Alhambra seemed a bit more posh! I lived in Longmore Street...

    Uniforms of WW1

Thanks for that Cromwell - knew you would know! Nearly all my Henns lived in Barn Street - I feel sure he fits in my family somewhere. What was his Christian name? We have a few Arthurs. Moma P - glad you liked the picture - I did too.

    Uniforms of WW1

I'm sure someone can tell me what uniform these girls are wearing. Cromwell, if you are reading this, you once mentioned that you knew an A. Henn. The girl seated is Amelia Henn - is she the one?

St. Mary's Church, Whittle Street, Birmingham.

Hi Peter,  Is it possible that the tower might have been altered since the drawing was done?  Sorry you think it ugly and, on looking again, perhaps you are right.  I never did have much taste. ;D
