    Bob As i said before the cap was issued pre war to one of my old schoolfriends brother. When i played for the district in 1951 all we got was a free coach ride and a free lunch. They must of started to issue the badges at a later date

    My dad lived in Formans RD in a house that can be seen in the picture. He often told me about the way they would hang on to any carts passing through the river. In the early days it was known as Formans Lane.

    Hi Maurice You should have done what i did,borrow me dads mac. Iused to get free tickets to the Rialto,from Mrs Clayton at the chip shop. She had a board outside the shop advertising the Rialto ,and got complementry tickets,she used to give them to mom for helping in the shop ,,

    The worst one i came across was a RSM Hugo at the Army School of Physical Training atAldershot . The only time i have ever had 2 haircts in one day,even though my name was down in the barbers book he made me have another one. Ken

    The original Lush works were on the Warwick Rd about 200 yds along from the Mermaid pub. Afew of the lads from Formans Rd school went to work there as upholsterers when they left school in the late 40s, and early 50s.
