    Hi Shadowrichards, The Rover in Hay Hall Road, Tyseley, was operating during WW2. Would guess that is the one you are referring to. I have some photos, but of an earlier era.

    The detachable collars were worn by most of the guys who went to The Brum Cavern. That would have been 64/65. They called them grandad collars.

    John, Infants were 5 to 7, and then juniors were 7 to 11. Sheldontony, I moved to Blakenhale from Cockshut in 1958. I was at Blakenhale for 2 years. Plenty of maypole dancing at Blakenhale.

    John Crump. Back then Cockshut Hill was an infant, junior and senior school. I went to Cockshut Hill Infants and Juniors, until it became an all senior school in 1958. I passed the 11 plus and went to Byng Kenrick Girls Grammar School. Ann

    The Birmingham, that we know now, is made up of so many districts. At one time, some were part of Warwickshire, some part of Worcestershire and some were part of Staffordshire. Hope this helps.

    It was my brother who first introduced our family to Bedders. Been going there for 50 years now! I don't think my brother has a photo of Smiths, but I'll check, and also see, if he remembers your dad. I know my brother also has happy memories of Smiths.
