    Birmingham buses

On the subject of illuminated side panels, my fading memory seems to recall that there were not to many. The only ones I seem to recall are 3003, 3006, 2976, 3089. I think there was one in the 3100's, but none in the 3200's and none prior to 2976. Not sure about 3079 either. Anybody got any ideas?

Interesting to see that 3006 had the illuminated side panel, as did 3003, both originally at Miller St.

    A bit of fun

Peter, I can only report what was written on the back of the picture. Don't know who took it, and since I was only 3 years old at the time, don't think I could have made it up to Cotteridge garage anyway!

Lloyd is as usual correct. Have to ban him from answering any Cotteridge related questions! This bus built in 1931, entered service in 1932 and was withdrawn in 1947. Sold to Everell,Wolverhampton March 1948, probably used by them as basis for re-built coaches to AEC Royal Specifications.

Here is a picture of OV 4491 taken in 1947, parked at a BCT garage. OK then, which garage?? Let's see how many guesses it takes before someone gets it right. ONE guess per person please.... Sorry no prizes available...:)

    Last Ladywood Tram?

While going through some old photos, I found this one. Am I correct in believing this is a shot of the last Ladywood Tram? There are a lot of "big-wigs" from Congreve Street!! Third from the left is Tommy Hayes, I believe and right in the middle is my Dad, W.A.J (Bill) Mitchell. From the looks...
