    Hi , I think Lyndon Green was opened around 1952 as my sister went to Stanville road and then transferred to Lyndon Green when it opened, she was born in 1946 I was born in 1950 and started there in 1955.

    I went to college there too, I was sent for one year by the GPO, I was 17 when I started there when I began as a telephonist at telephone house, they made you go to college till you were 18.

    Oh dens were a favourite for kids , even my kids had one over a sheoak reserve where we live now. All the local kids used it , it was a huge hole dug in the ground covered by corrugated tin. Must have been hot in the summer!

    Yes , remember the old can telephone , we were happy with home made toys when we were kids, weren't we, I loved stilts, made with two tall sticks with a wedge hammered on side of each, kept us quiet for hours.

    They look just like the one my husband lived in while growing up in Bickley Grove Sheldon , they were eventually pulled down and replaced by new houses. There were quite a few round there, at the time ...Merlin Grove, Haydyn Grove etc.

    Harvo Malt Bread

    I have always loved malt loaf but its not available in Australia I always bring some back when I visit UK. My sister sent a recipe and I have made it a few times, it is tasty and I enjoy it but I cant get that lovely gooey texture to it. Sad as it is one of my childhood favourites.
