    Prince Of Wales Cambridge Street

Thanks Lyn, I did wonder what it was like, I'm hoping to go in there soon when paying a visit to the library. When I'm there, I will get a photo from the same angle as the pic and it can go onto the site. I'm also hoping to get a pic of the trophy that Arthur Strawbridge won (year not known).

    Prince Of Wales Cambridge Street

Astoness, would you know what year the first pic you posted of the Prince of Wales pub was? A member of my family who lived in Sheepcote Street won a cup there years ago! I'm trying to learn a little but about the pub if I can, thanks.

Lionel Strawbridge And Laurie Williams, The Nightingale Club, I'm Kat Strawbridge, Tracing Family.

I have been in touch via email with LGBT Birmingham. They have been very helpful and as Lansor said, the library holds the LGBT archive. Also, my email was circulated within LGBT Birmingham to see if anyone else had any information or memories to share. I have since been contacted again to...

That's great Lansor. I am going to go back to the library, so I can look that up. Also I can get in touch with LGBT. Not only that, the information you have given me is interesting. It's great to learn about any of the history of LGBT, but especially where Birmingham concerned. I will let...

Thank you Lansor, that's helpful. I have seen the website you recommended, and I tried to send an email where it says contact us, but for some reason it didn't go through. I will just have to keep on hoping that someone see's the post and can perhaps put me in touch with someone who knew a bit...

Hi MWS, yes, that's the info I have found, but thank you for mentioning it as it confirms what I have seen. What I am hoping to find out is if someone knows why he came to Birmingham, if he came to Birmingham and he wasn't born here.

Hi Can anyone tell me about Lionel Strawbridge please? Does anyone know where he came from? Although we share the same surname, I cannot find much info on him other than he was involved with a club called The Nightingale and The Jug. Thanks Kat

Great pic, thanks Lyn, I haven't seen that. Yes Ted, Ernest Strawbridge (1877-1942) and his son Arnold Ernest Strawbridge (1911-1985), they are my great great and great uncle's once removed. Good to hear about your memories and any other memories would be greatly appreciated. Kat

Abbey St, Hockley, Strawbridge Blacksmiths Family History Wanted For Kathryn Strawbridge

Also they had a forge in Broad Street, approx. up to 1914. The premises stood on the land where the old registry office used to be next to the municipal bank. Thanks Pedrocut

Abbey St, Hockley, Strawbridge Blacksmiths Family History Wanted For Kathryn Strawbridge

Hi, thanks, I think I got a bit excited as I only started looking for info tonight and came across a map on here! Ernest Strawbridge owned the blacksmiths in Abbey Street (number 20) from approximately 1940 - 1950's possibly. They would have shod horses for Scribbans's Bakery in Goode Street...
