    City Skyline 2010

I had no idea Wheels was a tip at one time . It was my first visit there , like a lot of other things really - it's on your doorstep but you don't see it or bother visiting it.

    City Skyline 2010

Like the ones of St Martins alongside the Selfridges carbuncle. I hope I grow to like the golfball it's quickly becoming an easily recognisable feature.

    Saint Georges Day

I might be tempted to make an appearance - being English and all. Is it just me ? or does Saint Georges Day not look right ? St Georges Day looks right ! What a difference a few letters can make.

    City Skyline 2010

Thanks Dave - more great pics . The skyline is constantly changing at the moment - I think I counted 12 cranes the other day - the majority seem to be building things connected to the University - mainly student digs by the looks of it - I wonder where the funding is coming from ?

    City Skyline 2010

I was out at Birmingham Wheels last week - taking the little one to a go-karting party and had never seen the city skyline from this viewpoint. I was amazed at the vista featuring most of the iconic buildings - old and new .

Nice one Eutrino - this could start a trend ( hopefully ).

    CROWN GREEN BOWLING

Played there many moons ago - but long before you ran the place Maggie - crown mind - not that flat rink stuff - they had both at the Tally if memory serves.

    Harborne swimming baths

When I first looked at the pictures I thought it was Erdington Baths - so similar in design and layout. Let's hope the new leisure centre will be asset to the local community - thanks for the pics.

    Convention Centre

What a fantastic pictoral record - thanks for sharing. I can see the Cube development ( back of the Mailbox ) from my work window and have watched progress almost daily - but never had the foresight ( or sense ) to do a pictoral like this - but I'll think about it in future.

Does anyone know of any haunted pubs in the Brum area?

The Bagot Arms also reputedly haunted - but by a happy spirit. One of the head bar/cellar men passed away in the cellar (back in the 80's if memory serves) - Bert ( Malek I believe) and is said to be still there overseeing 'his' cellar .

    Hustle - New Series

It's amazing how often the back streets are being used these days - BBC1's Surviviors was also shot in and around Edmund Street - another scene featuring the Old Contemptibles and a glimpse of the Old Royal..

I'm glad you clarified it was raffle ticket selling - it could have been alcohol you were on about. ;)

Big respect to Lyn and the staff at the Stags Head - fantastic spread they put on and thanks to Lyn for the event organising. I'm 'upping' some video clips to Youtube - I'll post the links when they're ready to go.

    Yew Tree - Witton Closed

What a shame that yet another watering hole has closed. The place was heaving a few weeks ago when the Villa were at home - mind you - can a couple of busy hours really keep a place going ? it appears not.
